This summer, our Prilep office welcomed a new group of interns ready to trade textbooks for real projects. Over the following weeks, they worked alongside our engineers on live challenges, learned what it actually takes to build something from scratch, and picked up more than a few lessons that no classroom could teach. Here’s what four of them had to say about the experience, in their own words.
Tamara Srbinoska
- What did I learn?
I learned to approach challenges with a structured, step-by-step mindset rather than always looking for the fastest solution. From an engineering perspective, I realized that growth is not only about solving problems, but also about thinking ahead and understanding the bigger picture. I also learned the importance of being adaptable, asking the right questions, and continuously looking for ways to improve. - How was my experience?
The experience was challenging in the best possible way. Every day brought a new opportunity to learn, improve, and step outside my comfort zone. The mentors were always there to provide guidance, answer questions, and explain things without judgment. Their support created an environment where I felt comfortable learning from my mistakes, growing professionally, and pushing myself further. I finished the internship with not only new technical knowledge, but also much greater confidence in my own skills. - Describe it in one word.

- What did I learn?
What stuck with me most is learning how to work through something when I had no clue where to start. I’d try stuff, get it wrong, adjust, and eventually get somewhere. I got a lot more comfortable with that being the normal way things go, not a sign I was doing something wrong. - How was my experience?
It was a really good experience overall, enjoyable even when things got frustrating in the moment. I liked that I got to build something real from start to finish and actually see it come together. It was great working alongside my colleagues too. Having people around to talk things through with and share the process made it even better. - Describe it in one word.

- What did I learn?
I learned how to organize my work, collaborate with a team, and make better decisions when things are unclear. Most importantly, I learned that building something useful is not just about making the code work, but also about understanding and validating the data before trusting the result. - How was my experience?
It was challenging in a good way. I had the chance to work on something that actually evolved over time, solve unexpected problems, make mistakes, improve the solution, and see how individual work becomes part of a much bigger team result. - Describe it in one word.

- What did I learn?
I learned how a data project actually runs inside a team. The technical skills came naturally through the project, but the bigger takeaway was how important communication is: asking the right questions early instead of making assumptions, and making sure the people around you can easily understand and build on your work. - How was my experience?
The best part was that I was never stuck for long. I always had a colleague I could think out loud with, and the mentors were happy to point me in the right direction whenever I needed it. It made the experience feel very collaborative, while still giving me the space to figure things out myself. - Describe it in one word.
