Challenge

A European company ran its operations on roughly 50 Delphi applications built over 20 years. The original designers were long gone, the business logic was undocumented, and meaningful change had become somewhere between prohibitively expensive and impossible.

Cloud, mobile, and AI capabilities were all out of reach.

Traditional rewrite estimates came back in years, against a fixed budget and an urgent timeline. At the start, the client couldn’t even share source code or database access.

Solution

IWConnect ran a free three-week pilot with Claude Code at the center of its AI Spec-Driven Development method: rebuild one application’s behavior as a written specification from PDFs, Excel exports, and demo screenshots, then have Claude Code generate a working Angular and Java Spring Boot app against it.

The pilot converted into a paid contract for the full portfolio. The same Plan, Implement, Verify loop then ran across the 50-application portfolio, with Claude Code executing every phase, engineers approving every gate, and source code never leaving the developer’s machine.
