In June, the Women in Tech Conference in Amsterdam empowered and inspired women in the tech industry. Four employees from ⋮IWConnect attended, eagerly anticipating a talk by Simona Todoroska. Can you share some key takeaways or lessons learned from the Women in Tech conference in Amsterdam?
- Career Growth: The career path isn’t always straightforward. Struggles and failures are part of personal growth. Many successful women shared their journeys, emphasizing perseverance and learning from mistakes.
- Leadership vs. Bossing: A popular topic was leadership versus bossing. Fewer women hold leadership positions. The key takeaway was the importance of speaking up and elevating teams.
- Innovations: AI was a major focus. Speakers showed how they use AI in their companies to influence business decisions. It was inspiring to see that we implement these innovations at ⋮IWConnect. Knowing that our work aligns with top tech minds was incredible.
Did you come across any groundbreaking innovations or technologies at the Women in Tech conference in Amsterdam? If so, what were they?
AI was a significant focus among the speakers. It was intriguing to witness how they utilized AI in their companies and how it influenced their business decisions. Many new technologies and AI-related topics were discussed at the conference. It was inspiring and amazing to see that we also implement these groundbreaking innovations at ⋮IWConnect. Being alongside some amazing tech minds and feeling that my work aligns with theirs and knowing that we also utilize cutting-edge technologies was an incredible experience.

I took advantage of the time after the conference to network with other attendees. It was a chance to engage with like-minded professionals and represent our company well. Conferences like these provide great opportunities to meet new people, learn about various technologies, and stay updated on trends.

⋮IWConnect has offices in Amsterdam. Did you manage to visit? What was the experience like visiting your company’s office in Amsterdam?
We visited our Amsterdam office and were delighted by the impressive atmosphere and familiar design. Our colleagues extended a warm welcome, making us feel at home. Despite sharing the building with other companies, the environment was friendly and engaging.
What were the highlights of the Women in Tech conference in Amsterdam?
The Women in Tech conference made a strong impression on me due to the focus on ChatGPT and advancements in AI. These topics were highlighted in every presentation and workshop. Two standout presentations explored digital identity, generative AI, and data, and AI’s role in daily life and environmental issues. I also commend our colleague Simona Todorska for her highly effective presentation at EWIT23, which sparked productive discussions.

Did you have the opportunity to interact with colleagues or team members in Amsterdam? How did this enhance your connection with the company?
We got to know our colleagues better and built relationships essential for collaboration. Our Amsterdam team planned fantastic activities, allowing us to share ideas and knowledge. It was a productive trip filled with fun activities.
