Legacy Application Modernization Replaces Fragmented Data Systems at Tata Chemicals

Challenge

Tata Chemicals North America’s mining operations in Green River, Wyoming ran on a Microsoft Access application with operational data scattered across Excel spreadsheets. Around 20 daily users dealt with duplicate records, manual reconciliation before every report, no data validation, and an error-prone process that couldn’t scale. Teams spent hours on data cleanup that should have been handled by the system itself.

Solution

IWConnect built a modern web application using .NET CORE and ReactJS over 32 sprints, replacing the fragmented system with purpose-built modules for shift entry, air quality monitoring, shaft tracking, and production reporting. Power BI integration delivered real-time dashboards. SnapLogic pipelines connected the application to ADP Workforce Now for employee data and GE Proficy Historian for sensor data, eliminating manual data handling across systems.

Business Value

Manual work dropped by 40-50%. Data entry errors fell by 60%. Integration with downstream systems achieved zero mapping errors post-go-live. All business rules are now enforced automatically, and management has real-time visibility into operations for the first time.

“The new system has transformed the way we operate. Everything is faster, more accurate, and much easier to manage.” – Wendy Clark, Dispatcher, Tata Chemicals North America
