EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR): Bi-Directional DDS Integration at Enterprise Scale

Challenge

A multinational consumer-goods manufacturer needed to comply with the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).

The mandate: submit a Due Diligence Statement (DDS) for every product containing wood-derived materials, tracing origin and movements across a sprawling network of factories, warehouses, suppliers, and documents without missing a single item.

Solution

We built a new end-to-end integration that spans procurement, manufacturing, and logistics. The system compiles authoritative data from master records, purchasing (purchase orders and invoices), and all warehouse transfers to assemble each DDS.

For every finished product, it sends a DDS request to the EU service and captures the EU’s acknowledgment—unique reference and verification numbers, creating a durable, item-level audit trail.

We partnered with the client’s architects, delivered quickly, and iterated as according to EU guidance and regulation.

The solution went live recently; stabilization runs through year-end, and with the official enforcement on the new act on 1 January 2026 we are certain that the client is in a great position that follows the EUDR regulation even months before the enforcement.

Business Value

The business can now prove compliance on demand. Auditors receive EU-issued reference and verification numbers per product; shipments are protected from documentation gaps that could trigger delays or penalties.

While not designed to increase revenue directly, the integration safeguards EU market access and reduces manual effort to reconstruct provenance.

The architecture is reusable and adaptable to other units, and to other industries where wood-derived inputs (including rubber) appear accelerating future EUDR compliance programs.
