What was the biggest challenge your team faced during the hackathon, and how did you overcome it?

The biggest challenge we hit was definitely the map feature for our app. We wanted it to show a carrier’s route from start to finish, but we didn’t have a Google Maps API key, which disrupted our plans. So, we pivoted to an open-source map alternative, which seemed promising at first. We got markers showing up on the map no problem, but when we tried to add the actual route, it was painfully slow and kept timing out! With the clock ticking, we decided to prioritize what worked. We stuck with the markers to show key points on the map and disabled the full route to keep the app functional and on track. It wasn’t the perfect solution we dreamed of, but the team’s quick thinking and focus on delivering a solid product let us push through and still come out on top!

Which song best represents your personality and why?

The song that best represents my personality is “Unstoppable” by Sia.

It’s an anthem of inner strength and confidence. It captures my belief in pushing limits, staying laser-focused on my goals, and being above average in everything I do.

Mihajlo Ristevski

What was the most exciting or unexpected moment during the hackathon?

The most exciting and unexpected moment was when we checked the clock after completing our project — we had finished way earlier than expected! It was one of those surreal moments where time just flew by because we were so deep in the zone. Realizing we not only finished ahead of schedule but had built something we were genuinely proud of gave us an incredible rush.

If your team had a mascot, what would it be?

Our mascot would be a neon chameleon with headphones, named “Byte”. This vibrant little character represents our adaptability, creativity, and team synergy. Just like a chameleon, we quickly adapted to every challenge thrown our way — blending different skills, ideas, and technologies seamlessly. The headphones symbolize how we stayed in sync and maintained our vibe throughout the hackathon. Byte reminds us that coding is not just about logic — it’s about rhythm, energy, and a bit of flair.

What’s one thing you learned from a teammate during the hackathon that surprised or inspired you?

One thing I learned from a teammate during the hackathon was their ability to stay calm and focused under pressure. Even when we hit unexpected roadblocks or tight deadlines, they managed to keep a positive attitude and encouraged the team to keep pushing forward. Their resilience and problem-solving mindset not only helped us overcome challenges but also motivated everyone to do their best. It taught me the value of maintaining composure and optimism, especially in high-stress situations.

What’s a skill or hobby you’d love to learn if you had more time?

I mainly worked on back-end so If I had a time I would like to try the AI coding agents for a front-end development.

Intermediate QA Consultant in QA

What did this hackathon teach you about teamwork under pressure?

I learned that teamwork under pressure is like a group project in school — except everyone actually does their part and no one disappears!

If your job were a video game, what would the main quest be?

“Automate or Die Trying” — Where every level completed unlocks a new flaky test and the final boss is a popup that only appears sometimes.

Marko Markovikj

Intermediate Technical Consultant in Java

What was your personal contribution to the project, and how did it impact the final result?

I focused on front-end development, ensuring the app was functional and straightforward to use. Delivering key features efficiently was a priority to support the project’s overall objectives.

What’s your go-to method for dealing with stress after a long workday?

After a long day, I usually have a light workout to help clear my head and boost my energy. Then I relax by playing video or board games, which helps me disconnect and recharge.

The Vibe Coders’ win wasn’t just about having the best app — it was about how they worked together when the clock was ticking and the unexpected happened. The AI Code Connect Hackathon 2025 winning team stayed calm, played to each other’s strengths, and kept the energy high from start to finish. If the hackathon was a test of skill, focus, and adaptability, they passed with flying colors — and a neon chameleon named Byte leading the way.
