About the Healthcare Provider
A leading company in the healthcare industry has been providing value and care to its clients worldwide for over 20 years. With more than 5,000 employees, this healthcare provider focuses on developing, manufacturing, and distributing continuous glucose monitoring systems for diabetes management.
The Challenge
This healthcare provider began a digital transformation by migrating to Jira Cloud in order to speed up their internal systems and processes and increase the quality of the products and services they provide to their clients.
They also needed to improve the testing processes of their e-Commerce website, as both the website and their products need to be FDA and ISO compliant.
Prior to Xray, the healthcare provider used a standalone tool for creating test cases that weren’t integrated with their ticketing system and didn’t support integration with other tools. They needed a test management tool to improve their requirements and manual/automated testing processes, easily integrate with Jira and other apps, and provide visibility and reports from a single source of truth.
The Solution
After searching and evaluating the test management tools available on the market, the client decided to implement Xray, which met all of their requirements. They counted on ⋮IWConnect, a certified Xray Partner, to support them with Xray installation, configuration, and integration. They also had the unique challenge of educating employees from 10 different sectors and teams on Xray best practices so they could improve their testing and collaboration processes.
⋮IWConnect is a global, multi-disciplinary, integration consultancy company focused on Strategy, Data Management, Analytics, Infrastructure, and Growth-Enablement. Their expertise in Quality Assurance services helped the healthcare company properly meet expectations without interrupting the continuous delivery of value to their clients.

The Implementation
Step 1: Analysis, planning, and organization
The first phase lasted 2 weeks and included the analysis of the healthcare company’s existing testing processes, with over 50 projects and more than 10,000 test cases across their projects. This also included defining their requirements and creating a plan to organize test cases and processes with multiple teams, by using Xray.
Step 2: Installation, configuration, and training
Once the analysis was complete, they moved to the second phase which included training the employees on how to use and configure Xray on each project. To maximize Xray’s potential and provide automation support, they easily integrated it with Selenium, Cucumber, Jenkins, and GitHub.
Step 3: Best practices and onboarding
Finally, the third phase included showing the best practices to the team and all the benefits that Xray offers when integrated with other tools. This process was followed by creating different reports to track the client’s testing process and provide quality analysis to the management team such as Test Coverage, Traceability, Test Plans, and Test Execution reports.
The entire onboarding process included more than 200 employees, lasted for about a month and a half, and covered not only QA teams but also team leads, DevOps, scrum masters, and administrators.
The company uses a standard Agile process which includes all roles of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), so their final training focused on creating a template to import around 300 existing test cases.
The Results
After ⋮IWConnect implemented Xray and trained all team members to use the tool successfully, the company established consistent testing processes across different teams which resulted in testing costs decreasing by 30%. They now have fast and reliable reports with information about the number of created and executed test cases, their coverage, the number of fixed issues, and test results. Better reporting helped improve internal teams’ organization by 30% and employee satisfaction by 90%.
Testing team efficiency increased by 73%, as they now provide a detailed view on planning and executing regression testing across all environments. This, plus well-timed triage and problem localization of the detected issues, resulted in a shortened period for ticket-fixing and resolution and also reduced the time spent planning and organizing regression tests by 50%.
