Collecting, Storing, and Visualization of Data Received from Air Quality Sensors

Overview & Challenge

Air quality is a hot topic nowadays, especially in winter. If you are in the environmental industry and are dealing with providing accurate data regarding air quality, you certainly know the importance of having your data processed and represented properly.

One of our clients, dealing with the same and having sensors for detecting the air quality in their country, was getting a lot of data needed to be processed and represented accordingly. More specifically, our client needed a solution that will represent the air quality statistics from all the different sensors producing big data. The sensors measure dozen air parameters like pm1, pm10, pm25, airly caqi, temperature, humidity, pressure etc., and the data should be collected, stored, represented and constantly updated with the newest values of the measured parameters. The main goal that the client wanted to achieve was to create interactive visualizations that will help the client make efficient decisions based on the presented results.

Solution

Our Data Management team delivered a scalable solution that collects data from multiple data sources, transforms the data into visual reports and shares it with a number of user groups and individuals and on multiple devices. It displays the results in a variety of interactive dashboards and charts in an effective and suitable way.

Business Outcomes

  • Easy collection, processing and analyzing big data, and representing valuable and actionable information in a form of rich and interactive dashboards and reports.
  • Complex analyses of air pollution factors of the governmental agencies, non-profit organizations and other groups and individuals for mitigating harmful effects of air pollution and increasing public awareness.
  • Improved decision-making process with the help of the reach visual representation.
